Waders are waterproof suits with built-in boots that cover up to the chest, for entering the water when setting up Rigs, retrieving the landing net, or moving around waterlogged banks. There are robust models for intensive use, lightweight nylon versions, and lined Waders for the cold, in green or camo, and thigh-high boots, from Vass, Fox, Mikado, Trakker, Nash or Avid Carp.

Choose the size according to your footwear size and height, and check that the boot has a non-slip sole for slippery bottoms. In winter, a lined wader retains heat better; in summer, a lightweight one is more comfortable. Always adjust the straps and use a belt.
