The selection brings together crimping pliers, general-purpose models and a pair of RidgeMonkey Duty Snips. Identify the function, length, material, jaw, handle and lock of each tool.

Crimping pliers must match the crimp sleeve and line size; scissors require checking which fibres they can cut. Don't use any model to unhook or handle hooks unless expressly stated. Test the crimp and check the joint before fishing, keep blades and jaws clean and dry, and keep the tips protected. Replace tools that are rusty, misaligned, nicked or have loose handles.
