Waterproofing, hydrostatic head, breathability, insulation and sealed seams should be listed on each garment's spec sheet. For waders, check the boot, straps, belt and stated depth of use; they never replace a flotation system when one is required. Try the garments on with the layers you plan to wear, check the fastenings and cuffs, and follow the washing and drying instructions to preserve membranes and treatments.
