Compare measurements, capacity, weight, compartments, base, openings, handles and straps, plus any containers or dividers included. Only the thermal item should be considered a cooler, and no fabric should be considered waterproof without a specification. Measure boxes and tackle, distribute the load, and check fastenings and seams before transport. Clean up any spills, ventilate the interior and store each piece dry; a nominal capacity doesn't guarantee it will fit every gear format.
